My junior year of college, I decided I wanted to spend my time learning beyond the typical classroom setting. Thus, I joined student organizations to help grow professionally through various leadership roles!
ODU PRSSA
I joined ODU PRSSA in the fall of 2023 but took on the role of president in spring 2024. This has been an incredibly rewarding opportunity that has allowed me to make connections globally, contribute positively to the experience of other students at ODU and strengthen my leadership skills. Here are some of my favorite experiences thus far:
Spring Trip 2024 to NYC!
My faculty advisor and I collaborated to plan this trip! We visited the Museum of Public Relations, the UN Headquarter and NBC Studios!
Hosted Amber Lester Kennedy, Assistant VP for Public Relations at ODU, to share with our members the pros and cons of in-house vs. agency PR!
2024 New Student Leader of the Year award!
ODU PRSSA 10th anniversary! We celebrated for 3 days with a panel (moderated by myself), awards and a networking breakfast with PRSA HR!
Her Campus ODU
I joined Her Campus ODU in the fall of 2023. I wanted additional opportunities beyond the classroom to strengthen my writing skills and to take on a leadership role within the organization. I served as the Campaign Director/Public Relations from the fall of 2023 to the fall of 2024 . I have assisted with building our reputation on campus, creation of digital and print materials, event planning and produce my own articles. The following is some of my work and events I've attended:

ODU AMA Strome Marketers
Through my marketing courses, I attended various meetings for ODU AMA, but became more involved during my senior year, officially joining the organization in the spring of 2025 and serving as the director of community service. In this role, I have had the opportunity to help serve the local and campus community.
Awards! I won the Collaborator of the Year Award for my partnerships between AMA and PRSSA!
